Alfa Romeo is competing with the biggest names in the sports car industry. Alfa Romeo announced its new supercar, the 8C, on June 1, 2018. The 8C coupe, named after the 8C Competizione, goes above and beyond, with incredible styling, remarkable power, and a sense of mystery. Here is what we know about the new Alfa Romeo 8C coupe so far.

Alfa Romeo debuted the supercar to automotive journalists and car enthusiasts on the first day of June in 2018. The vehicle has a stunning exterior, with a low to ground stance, curvy lines, and subtle touches of Italian flair. The Alfa Romeo 8C Coupe definitely looks like a supercar.

“The new 8C will be built around a carbon fiber monocoque and is powered by both a midship twin-turbo engine and an electrified front axle,” according to Fortune. “Together, combined with an all-wheel-drive electric drive system, the supercar will reach more than 700 horsepower.” While Alfa Romeo has not announced the 8C’s top speed, the vehicle is capable of going from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds. This power is almost unheard of, which is why this Italian brand is preparing to compete with other top names in the sports car industry, such as Ferrari and Porsche.

The Alfa Romeo 8C will come with Level 2 and Level 3 autonomy, meaning that the vehicle will be able to partially drive itself. Level 2 autonomy means the vehicle will use self-steering, self-braking, and self-accelerating technology, while Level 3 autonomy implies that the vehicle will be able to drive in and monitor its surrounding environment, without driver assistance.
